Aerial images show long rows of participants, alongside logistics stations, medical teams and numerous volunteers who set off towards Potocari.
The Peace March began in Nezuk, the location where survivors from Srebrenica arrived in July 1995 after breaking through to territory controlled by the Army of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Three-day walk along the “Path of Salvation”
Thousands of participants from Bosnia and Herzegovina and abroad will spend three days walking the route in reverse, retracing the path taken by thousands of Bosniaks who attempted to reach free territory near Tuzla during the events of July 1995.
This year’s Peace March runs from July 8 to July 10, following a route through the municipalities of Zvornik, Milici, Vlasenica, Bratunac and Srebrenica before concluding at the Potocari Memorial Center.
The footage also highlights the organised campsite established for participants, featuring accommodation tents and the infrastructure needed to support a multi-day event and prepare walkers for the journey ahead.
Participants have access to accommodation, medical assistance, refreshment stations and logistical support to help ensure the three-day march is conducted safely and with dignity.
The participants are scheduled to arrive at the Potocari Memorial Center on July 10, ahead of the commemoration marking the 31st anniversary of the Srebrenica genocide.
